Since 2019, we have established Trailblazer & Mental Health Support Teams in both Kingston and Richmond boroughs and work closely with our colleagues in Early Help and Social Care. As a CAMH service we have a strong sense of team and work together to support children and young people’s emotional wellbeing.

About the role

The post holder will work within a service providing low intensity interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties. The post holder will work with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. You will also be part of a team of clinicians providing access to clinical supervision, peer supervision, line management and CPD.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree, upper second class or above, in Psychology OR related subject (e.g. Psychology, Education, Childhood development, Social Work etc), OR any subject with further training or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Teaching/TA; Learning Support; HCA; Youth Work; Counselling etc) OR relevant professional experience in CYP Mental Health/Education/Mentorship (to be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Previous experience of working with children and young people
  • Ability to study as a self-motivated learner and implement training with appropriate support
  • Demonstrates high standards in written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrates ability to work well with other professionals/ colleagues
  • Ability to personally manage a sensitive, traumatic and potentially emotionally distressing caseload
  • Able to travel to meet post requirements
  • Experience of working in mental health or related services
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place to demonstrating outcomes
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time

Training at Kings commences 23rd January 2023 and an application to Kings College London Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Young Persons Psychological Wellbeing Practice needs to be made alongside your application to Achieving For Children.
