Our consultants co-create and iterate with colleagues and clients in our Innovation Centres, Labs, and Design Studios to reimagine and reshape industries and markets.

Life as a Consulting Intern

As a Consulting Intern, you’ll be helping to create solutions for our clients’ biggest challenges. You will build relationships at the heart of our clients’ organisations, helping them to address their most significant business issues, and will provide management support to improve business processes. You will be engaged in a variety of project roles and tasks as an Intern, which could include developing change management plans, overseeing IT implementation projects, or creating customer journeys.

Whatever you’re doing today, it could be different tomorrow, as you’ll move between projects of varying durations in a range of industries. Regardless of what you’re working on, you’ll be constantly collecting and analysing data to understand our clients’ organisations, and then presenting it in easily digestible forms to deliver high-impact data-driven business insights.

What we’re looking for

We look for outstanding performers, with an open and collaborative mindset. You’ll need well-rounded capabilities with a proactive, driven, and self-empowering approach. Change is the only constant in our line of work, so you’ll need to be flexible, agile, resilient, and able to work with ambiguity and constantly changing demands. A dedicated teammate, you’ll have strong communication, project management and problem-solving skills, and you’ll be confident presenting to an audience and interacting with senior stakeholders.

You’ll need to have a growth mindset to become a good consultant, and you’ll need to be naturally curious about business and technology. We’re looking for you to demonstrate your passion for technology in either your studies, work experience or extracurricular activities. Experience using PowerPoint and Excel at an intermediate or advanced level are a big bonus, as is an ability to analyse data using statistical methods to find insights and patterns.

To join our industrial placement scheme, you’ll need to be studying at an UK university on a Bachelor’s degree that has a credit-bearing placement option. This means that you’re in the penultimate year of your degree programme. We accept applications from all degree disciplines and are keen to discover how your studies have helped you develop the skills we are looking for. We value strong academic performance, but do not have minimum grade requirements for our programmes.

What you’ll learn:

Through hands-on work and structured training and development, you’ll build specialist expertise, digital awareness, and grow your skills to become a trusted client advisor. Because we work with clients in every industry, and consult across all business functions, you will begin to develop a specialisation in either an industry or functional area to grow deep marketable skills and become a specialist consultant. There will be constant opportunities to collaborate with, and learn from, industry experts while you’ll have access to the training and learning tools you’ll need to succeed, both in your job and in your longer-term career.

By the end of the scheme, you will come away with some valuable skills – and hopefully an offer to join us when you graduate.

Where you'll work

Accenture is a people first business which thrives on collaboration, knowledge sharing and building strong connections. You will need to live within commutable distance of your assigned office, and you will be expected to come into the office regularly. Due to the nature of our work, you may be delivering projects on client sites anywhere in the UK and sometimes outside of the UK. You will be expected to work on client site or in your assigned office for a minimum of 3 days a week or more depending on business requirements.

Additional Information

We receive a high volume of applications for our placement scheme, however, we only have a small number of spaces to fill, so the process is highly competitive. Places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for applications is 31st January 2025.
