Are you an aspiring Finance professional with an interest in working in Social Housing? If yes, then this may be the perfect role for you!

The role

We have a great opportunity that has arisen within our Financial Services department for 2 Trainees. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the department and will be trained to prepare management accounts, budgets and forecasts. You’ll work with other members of the team to provide financial support to budget holders.

In addition, you will

  • Assist with the preparation of journals & interface files.
  • Assist with internal and external audit reviews.
  • Ensure that all relevant financial controls and correct procedures are understood and followed.
  • Assist with project work and carry out any other duties required by line management within reasonable limits
  • Put external and internal customers first, understanding their needs and expectations and achieving results.

Please note, we are offering one Permanent position, and a 12-Month FTC / Secondment with a potential to go Permanent. Your main office will be Grosvenor House, Croydon, although you’ll be required to travel to our Farringdon office on occasion. We offer a flexible hybrid working approach which will be agreed with your line manager.

What you’ll need

  • You’ll be eager to learn and keen to complete an accountancy qualification i.e. AAT.
  • The ability to handle numbers and perform arithmetic operations effectively.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
  • You’ll be self-motivated with good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting (desirable)
  • Experience in producing budgets and forecasts (desirable)
  • Knowledge of UK social housing (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Service Charges (desirable)
