ACCIONA, in its Industrial Business Line, needs to incorporate a Junior Electrical Instrumentation & Control (EC&I) Supervisor (Internship) for its Kelvin project in Birmingham.
Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior EC&I Supervisor (Intern) to gain hands-on experience working on a Waste to Energy construction project in Birmingham. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to start their career in EC&I supervision. The selected candidate will assist the senior electrical team in managing the EC&I installations on-site, learning how to ensure that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising electrical activities on-site, including the installation, maintenance, inspection and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist in supervising instrumentation activities on-site, including the installation, maintenance, inspection and commissioning of instrument installations.
- Assist in supervising control system activities on-site, including the installation, maintenance, inspection and commissioning of control system (DCS / SIS / BMS).
- Support the senior team in ensuring that all EC&I work complies with project design, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments (mechanical, civil, etc.) to facilitate the smooth progress of EC&I works.
- Help monitor the performance of EC&I Installation subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety and contractual standards.
- Participate in inspections of EC&I systems and equipment to identify any potential issues and assist in preventive maintenance.
- Assist in scheduling and planning mechanical work to meet project deadlines.
- Support the implementation of safety regulations and ensure team members follow safety procedures.
- Contribute to technical discussions and assist with reporting on EC&I work progress.
- Maintain accurate records of EC&I activities, inspections, and equipment maintenance.
About you
Requirements:
- Recent graduate or final-year student in Electrical / Controls and Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and an understanding of engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation (training will be provided).
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction supervision.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or previous experience in a construction or electrical C&I environment (advantageous but not required).
- Understanding of health and safety practices in construction.
