We have an exciting opportunity for another recent University Graduate to join our Finance Team at BSI as our latest Trainee Accountant in the New Year! This would be the perfect first role for someone aspiring to kick-start their career in accountancy after completing a relevant degree, or someone in the early stages of their finance career with a passion for pursuing accounting.
As a hybrid position working 2 days in our Milton Keynes offices, you will receive hands on, in-person mentoring to develop your skills and long term career goals. You will be provided with the relevant training in the different aspects of the month end process together with the opportunity to progress through study and hands–on–assignments, with BSI helping to fund your ACCA qualification.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Fixed Asset accounting process and managing the intercompany process between the UK entities with their counterparties in Asia Pacific, Americas, and European offices. You will also be involved in the month end postings of journals and accruals together with the preparation of reconciliations and making sure that all tax, legal and statutory obligations are met, including the preparation of VAT returns.
Responsibilities
- Some work experience or internship experience, ideally in finance, but any would be beneficial.
- A strong academic background in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- A proactive mindset with a driven attitude to learn.
- A collaborative and team orientated approach.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
- The confidence and eagerness to take responsibility and ownership of tasks.
To be successful in the role, you will have
- Organisation skills and excellent accuracy to ensure all data and information is valid and correct.
- Communication skills for working closely with the FSSC team and colleagues across all functions to provide support and guidance on finance processes.
- A proactive and inquisitive mindset to help nurture the development of your own skillset and expertise.
