Are you studying a science, technology, engineering, medicine, electronics, maths, computer science, AI or cyber subject? Ever thought of a career in a law firm?

We’d like to invite you to our Intellectual Property (IP), Cyber and Technology Open Day, where we’ll introduce you to the many ways a technical background can help you to build an outstanding career in law.

The event will include an overview of IP law (the law protecting inventions, brands, technology, media and creative work) as well as the legal side of cyber security and other areas of technology law.

Our science and technology qualified lawyers will take you through some of our most exciting recent work, showing how their skills and interests are essential for the matters we handle. We’ll show you how your soft and hard skills will help you in day-to-day work including:

  • interviewing experts in a scientific or technical field
  • supervising experiments
  • understanding how software has been misused
  • appreciating how the latest blockbuster drugs were invented and recognising scientific and technical context in which this happened being able to communicate with technologically sophisticated clients
  • preventing or limiting cyber disasters
  • dealing with the complex IP issues surrounding AI.

The day is designed to inspire you and show you the high profile, high quality work you could be involved in if you choose to join us, whether as a lawyer or as part of our legal operation function.

This Open Day is open to applications from students studying a science, technology, engineering, electronics, maths, medicine, computer science, artificial intelligence or cyber subject and also to those studying other subjects who are involved in technology-driven projects, in any year of their degree, as well as to graduates. If you are unsure whether your degree subject qualifies, please get in touch.
