Bright Network Technology Academy

Bright Network Technology Academy is a unique 12-24 month career accelerator which has been created exclusively for highly driven Bright Network members who are looking to kickstart a career in technology but don’t have a degree in Computer Science. 

Why we launched Technology Academy...  

Because technology is one of the fastest growing and exciting sectors in the UK – and we believe that anyone with the passion and curiosity for tech should have the opportunity to build a career in the sector.  

Unfortunately, too many graduates don’t get the chance to work in tech because they haven’t got the right degree or they don’t know how to get the skills they need to land their dream tech job.  

The result – the tech sector is hugely lacking in diversity. 

But Technology Academy is here to change that by supporting Bright Network members into tech, regardless of background or what they studied at university.

So, what actually is it? 

Technology Academy is a 12-24 month career accelerator that supports Bright Network members into tech through a combination of intensive training and job opportunities.  

Currently, we offer two career accelerators: 

• Software Engineering 

• Business Transformation 

Each career accelerator is split into two phases to give you all the knowledge and support you need to launch a career in tech. 

Phase 1: Training – 6-12 weeks 

Technology Academy starts with a totally free 6-12 week bootcamp (dependent on bootcamp specialism) where our dedicated trainers will teach you the foundational skills you need to start work in a technology team. 

In addition to this, we’ll transform you into a well-rounded lifelong learner with top communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills that will allow you to build on your knowledge as you progress into your career. 

Phase 2: Job placement – 12-24 months 

Following the bootcamp, the top graduates from each class are given the chance to interview for roles in a range of tech disciplines at our leading partners across the UK. 

If successful in getting a placement, we’ll then continue to support you for up to 24 months while you’re working at one of our partner firms. You’ll be part of a community of Technology Academy consultants who are all going through the same journey as you. You’ll be paired with a dedicated Talent Manager who will guide you with additional training and support to help you succeed in tech.  

And most importantly, you’ll have a caring team of experts around you at every step of the journey to ensure you successfully make the jump into tech. 

Does it work? 

Yes! To date, we’ve trained over 300 Bright Network members as junior technologists and many of them have gone on to complete placements at our leading partner firms. 

How much does the training cost? 

Nothing! Technology Academy is totally free for Bright Network members. 

What’s the salary? 

Technology Academy salaries are extremely competitive for entry level roles. Our average salary is £30k OTE (dependent on location).  

In addition to this we offer a training bonus to everyone that completes their training and successfully gets a role at one of our partner firms. 

Is Technology Academy for me? 

Getting into tech without a degree in computer science isn’t easy, but it’s possible if you have the right personality and drive.
