You will be given the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through on the job training. These opportunities begin anytime from June through to August, Internships are usually 8-12 weeks and Sandwich years 10-12 months.

You will be supported and assessed during your placement and if you perform well, you may be offered an opportunity to return for a further Internship or Graduate role (depending on your university year).

Who we're looking for

You may think a company like Arcadis is only interested in people with an Engineering or Construction related degree, however, we actively encourage applications from candidates who are from non-engineering or construction related degree disciplines for our Consulting and Project Management programmes.

If you don’t have a relevant degree and you apply for our Project Management or Cost Consulting Programmes, you will undertake an MSc conversion course, this will be studied through distance learning.

Most of all we want people who are energetic, motivated and have the natural drive to achieve results. Those who have excellent analytical skills, are resilient, adaptable to change and who possess a Growth Mindset. These traits align to our culture and are thus some of the attributes we look for in future Arcadians.

The application processes

All of our Graduates go through a 4-tier selection process and Under-Graduates 3-tier (comprising of stages 1, 2 and 4 below).

1st Stage: Application and CV Submission

Prior to applying make sure you do your research into the company and the industry, to give yourself the best chance of securing a place.

Start by completing a short application and submit your CV. You will be able to select the programme that is of interest and your preferred location.

2nd Stage: Behavioural Based Assessment

We assess candidates' suitability to our vacancies using a behavior-based assessment that is enhanced using game technology. This is an all-in-one solution that measures personality & cognitive ability. The assessment lasts approximately 40 minutes and differs from a more traditional psychometric or aptitude assessment. Using this type of psychometric tool ensures that no individual is at a disadvantage by taking the assessment regardless of their education and/or previous life experiences.

The assessment comprises of a number of simple mini neuroscience tasks which analyze the way in which you approach different situations. Previous gaming experience will not positively or negatively impact the candidate's likelihood to progress to the next stage of the process.

3rd Stage: Assessment Centre

Our trained Assessors and Recruitment team will ensure the experience is as pleasant as possible during your virtual or physical assessment.

Assessments consist of 2 exercises, a group exercise lasting up to 2 hours and a capability scenario exercise that assesses your skills and knowledge specific to the programme you have applied to. During your Assessment you will also have the opportunity to network with our Graduates.

Don’t forget the assessment day is a two-way process, it’s about providing you with as much information as possible to allow you to evaluate our environment, our people and culture, as well as us assessing your suitability for the opportunity you have applied for.  Remember we want you to be ‘Yourself’.

4th stage: Final Interview

The final interview is made up of two parts an Interview which assesses your competencies, behaviours, and suitability for the chosen programme or position. The second part of the interview focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our industry and Arcadis, which you will be able to prepare for prior to the interview.

If you would like to join Arcadis, we'd love to hear from you.
