In Spring 2021, Covington ran our first virtual social mobility insight day, with the aim of providing students with an insight into our firm and the key skills required to become a successful lawyer.
The insight day forms part of a number of initiatives the firm has put into place to ensure that students from all backgrounds are able to gain access to law firms, as we seek to diversify the profession.
Attendees at the social mobility day experienced a series of presentations and interactive sessions, including a networking workshop and mock interviews. Attendees to the day commented: “It was a really unique and excellent way of introducing students into the work of Covington in a real intimate and insightful way”, and “I have never been to such an interactive and informative insight day - and this was a virtual one!”.
This year the firm will be building on the success of the social mobility insight day by offering four bite-sized insight events focusing on upskilling students throughout the application process.
