Reverse mentoring is when a senior leader is mentored by a more junior colleague who, from a diversity and inclusion perspective, may be different from them in some way, and therefore experiences their career differently. The focus of reverse mentoring is to increase the mentee’s inclusion skills. However, mentors are also provided with the opportunity to learn from their mentee’s experiences, so it is a career development opportunity for both.
