Life as an International Management Trainee: Rich's story

I joined Kraft Heinz in September 2021 as an International Management Trainee. It was the most incredible year which began with a 2-month onboarding where I learnt about all the main functions at the business as well as completed a week of field sales.

After the two months, I completed my first rotation which was in People & Performance. I worked on a project to use employee tribes to provide greater personalisation across our employee touch points. I was recognised for my work by getting the opportunity to present to our Chief People Office for the International Zone. It was such a great experience to be able to interact with someone so senior.

After my time in People & Performance, I then undertook my second rotation in the New Ventures Team where I worked under the Head of Strategy & Finance. This was an incredible experience, as I was able to work in a truly cross functional team which was launching many of our newest products.

Alongside my time in the New Ventures team, I became a member of Kraft Heinz’s Shadow Board and a member of our LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group (Proudz). Both these experiences have been incredible, as I have been able to meet amazing people and make positive changes for our business. For example, I lead the organisation of our first LGBTQ+ Insights Day which saw students from across the UK come to our office to learn more about our early career programs.

Since finishing the Trainee Program in September of 2022, I have taken on a fulltime role in the People & Performance Team. I continue to sit on the Shadow Board and our Proudz BRG too.
