Elizabeth - Graduate Cloud PMO Analyst, Oracle Delivery Unit
One of the best things about working at Capgemini, is the true collaboration and team spirit between colleagues. It is a safe space to learn, have fun and ultimately build working relationships with a fantastic group of people.
What is it that you do?
I work in a PMO (project management office) role and work directly with the Engagement Manager (EM), project leadership team and clients to ensure the project is running smoothly. Within this role, I work with various people across different business areas to define and maintain standards as the Delivery partner to the client.
What does a day in the life look like for you?
Typically, the day starts with a run of reports (financial, time booking and holiday management) and a check-in with resources. I run through the diary and ensure all action logs are complete ahead of the sessions with the team and client, and if required, provide relevant documentation to the leadership team.
As my role is predominately governance based, I ensure that our expectations and deliverables to the customer are on track and progressing efficiently. I support the EM with various tasks throughout the month, with a particular focus on the financial tracking and month-end processes. I maintain all governance and documentation for the project and provide status reports across the wider business unit.
What advice would you give to students looking to apply to Capgemini?
Take it one step at a time, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Each person you work with has started somewhere and are always there to point you in the right direction. Accept that you may feel uncomfortable but be prepared to start conversations with those around you for extra support!
