Aswin Accenture

What is your role and how long have you been at Accenture?

I am a "Program & Project Management Analyst" at Accenture. I joined Accenture through the graduate program as an Analyst in December 2022 and I’ve been here for about a year and 4 months now.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?

I am from India, I did my Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering in India and Masters at the University of Nottingham and got my offer with Accenture around the time I graduated from my Masters. Accenture is my first full time corporate job and I was a fresher when I joined.

What inspired you to apply for this role/Accenture?

Technology and business has always fascinated me, which has lead me to pursue International business in my masters degree. I wanted to work in a place where I could work on technology transformation projects where I work more in the management side of things but also be involved with technology. The best company in technology consulting is surely Accenture and this graduate program was the best fit for both my educational needs and interests. Accenture has clients across the globe across many different industries and I can’t think of any other place I’d want to start my career!

What has been the single most important thing you learnt so far in your job?

"Be curious, be a learner everyday, ask questions" is something I have learnt which also helps me grow. At Accenture from day 1 they always said " no question is a silly question" which made me ask as many questions on everything I could to keep learning and evolving myself as a professional throughout my job.

What would a ‘normal’ day look like for someone in your role?

It starts with looking through some emails and planning the day. Daily stand-up calls with the team to discuss the goals, key issues, etc. Then it usually is call after call with clients, leadership and different internal teams on projects whilst also preparing reports to client and leadership, drafting impact responses, project work and also any side of desk activities like engaging with communities etc.

What do you find most interesting with the sector/industry you’re in?

I work for a public sector client and I was fascinated to see how Accenture is digitally transforming the industry by optimizing a lot of their processes. The industry fascinates me as it is meant to serve the society and people which makes it more meaningful than anything else.

What is the company culture like?

The culture is brilliant and vibrant. There is a diverse set of colleagues we work with and the culture within the company embraces all employees and makes them feel and deliver their best. Apart from diversity in culture, the culture within Accenture in the way we have "work life balance" is amazing and how every employee is made to feel important on the contributions they do. There is a sense of appreciation for the work you do in your team and I always try to encourage others to do their best too! It has an amazing culture and I always look forward to the next day at work. Also, good work is always appreciated, I have been always given appreciation even for the smallest of work I have done which I also do for anyone who does a great job.

How important is diversity to you and what is Accenture doing in this space at the moment?

Diversity is a key factor for any company to grow. As an Indian from a different culture, I felt really welcomed and Accenture is a multi-cultural environment where we get to work with colleagues from different countries which is the best. All Accenture employees feel most welcomed and all cultures are celebrated within the company and we have various events for all festivals for different communities with food from their cuisine, etc.
