The Assessment Centre will be attended by a selection of applicants from the same pathway to which you have applied.

Our selection process is designed to assess your potential and success and opposed to general intelligence. In terms of the Assessment Centre, you will be assessed on your participation, contribution and performance on each of the activities. To maximize your chances of success, follow the below points:

  • Treat it as a formal interview, first impressions are super important!
  • Be assertive
  • Speak clearly and engage in conversations
  • Take advantage of the experience around you, ask lots of questions, engage in as many conversations with a range of people on the day
  • Contribute to the group and show leadership skills
  • If you are nervous or introverted, try to share any ideas and step out of your comfort zone
  • Focus on the objective and keep track of time to achieve goal within the time limit
  • Remember to be always polite and courteous
  • Be mindful of the language you use
  • Prepare yourself for the interview- practice competency-based questions, you can easily find a selection of these on Google

  • Use the downtime to introduce yourself to people, make connections and show genuine interest
  • Relax and let your personality shine, you have done incredibly well to make it this far!

Interview

  • Use breathing techniques to calm any nerves, but try to remember a few nerves are normal
  • Smile and greet the interviewer confidently
  • Take your time - you don’t have to answer straightaway. Take a moment to consider your response, and feel free to ask them to repeat the question. Remember to back up everything you say with examples.
  • Try to use the STAR Technique when answering (Situation, Task, Action, Result)
  • Body language and eye contact are key - Give a firm handshake, make good eye contact with the interviewers, especially if there are more than one.
  • Ask any questions - you can also prepare questions ahead of the interview and bring them with you on the day
