We wanted to find out more about what it really means to be a Recruitment Coordinator, so we chatted to Josh from AlphaSights to get exclusive insights into his role. He shares what his typical working day looks like and highlights the importance of being able to take feedback.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
In the summer after finishing my MSc at Durham Business School, I joined the Recruitment Coordinator Programme. As someone that really gains energy from others, it was a no-brainer to pursue my passion for people and their early careers at AlphaSights.
Through my studies and work experience, I quickly learned the importance of top-tier talent in the success of businesses and knew that driving growth by finding the latest generation of talent was something I wanted to be part of.
What is a ‘normal day’ like as a Recruitment Coordinator?
I work best in a role that is well varied, so a ‘normal day’ doesn’t quite exist. But, typically I’ll engage in various activities including speaking with and educating prospects, guiding candidates through our recruiting process, working with stakeholders to assess interviewee performance and strategising around talent attraction. There’s also a good bit of creative project work, supporting the organisation of campus events across the UK and Europe!
