By taking part, you will gain exclusive insight into the technology industry and how to apply for roles in tech. This insight will help you with your application for Bright Network Technology Academy

1.8 How can Tech for All help with my application for Bright Network Technology Academy bootcamp?

If you are eligible for Bright Network Technology Academy (i.e. you are a final year student looking for roles/opportunities in tech upon finishing your studies) and have attended all 3 events in the Tech for All series, you will gain a fast-track in the applications for the bootcamp.

This does not guarantee you a place on Bright Network Technology Academy's bootcamp, but it will increase your chances of success.

Section 2

2.1 What is Bright Network Technology Academy?

Bright Network Technology Academy is a Tech Bootcamp designed to kickstart your career in Technology. It consists of a 12-week training bootcamp to help you gain the skills and connections to succeed in a technology career.

2.2 Am I guaranteed a place on Bright Network Technology Academy's bootcamp by taking part in Tech for All?

By taking part in Tech for All, you are not guaranteed a place on a Bright Network Technology Academy cohort. However, if you are eligible to apply for Bright Network Technology Academy upon attending all 3 Tech for All virtual events, you will benefit from a fast-track in the application process and be able to use the information gained in the series to support your application.

2.3 If I apply for a Bright Network Technology Academy cohort following Tech for All, which cohort can I apply for?

If you are eligible to apply for a Technology Academy bootcamp upon completing the Tech for All series, you will be able to apply for any of our summer cohorts and benefit from a fast-track in the application process. We run 8 cohorts per year.

2.4 Does the Technology Academy bootcamp cost money?

No!

2.5 What is the time commitment for the Technology Academy bootcamp?

Bootcamp hours are Mon - Fri. 09:00 - 17:00

2.6 What equipment do I need to take part in Bright Network Technology Academy?

The bootcamp is a free learning experience. If you secure a place in one of our cohorts, we will send you all the kit you need - it's just an internet connection that's required!

2.7 If I leave the 12-week bootcamp, do I have to pay a training bond?

No! There’s no training bond as part of our programme. Whilst we want to ensure people who join our programmes are serious about pursuing a career within technology and want to secure one through Technology Academy, you are able to leave no strings attached.

2.8 Am I guaranteed to secure a role after completing the 12-week training bootcamp?

To date we’ve deployed over 200 consultants with our partner employers and have a really good track record for getting our learners placed through our employment programme. However, you do still have to interview for your roles with our clients, and we can’t guarantee that you pass this stage of the process. That said, we can give you all the tools you need to suceed at this stage!

2.9 Can I choose which role I go for?

When we’re clear on which roles are available to apply to, we can certainly give you an opportunity to express your preferences. We do ask however that everyone joining our bootcamps has an open mind about the kinds of roles which are available to them as you never know where your career may take you.

2.10 I want to stay in one location, is Bright Network Technology Academy right for me?

We ask that everyone who joins our bootcamps shows a degree of flexibility in location. Our clients are all over the country, from London to Edinburgh. As such you need to ensure that you’re comfortable in relocating to different areas before embarking on this programme

2.11 On completing the training, will I be a contractor and what does that mean?

You won’t be a contractor at Technology Academy which means you don’t need to worry about filling out your own tax returns and declaring your income. You’ll be a salaried employee of Bright Network, and will work as a consultant with your placement employer. This gives you the best of both worlds: the experience of a top tier employer, working with their technology stack, along with the support of an early careers expert to set you up with everything you need to be successful.
