The event is running in a hybrid format, so you can attend virtually or in-person. However, virtual attendees will not have the opportunity to network with the employers. Instead, we will run employer interviews to help our virtual attendees gain more insights. 

*Sponsorship opportunities with participating employers may be limited for attendees without the permanent right to work in the UK

Who can attend

UK university students graduating in 2025, 2026 or 2027 (or 2028 if already at university and on a four-year course)

Undergraduate students at UK universities who identify with an underrepresented group

A strong interest in Commercial Law

Best suited to entry level candidates currently studying for their first undergraduate Bachelors degree or integrated Masters

Additional skills gained from extracurricular activities/work experience will be viewed favourably, especially those related to law

Welcome and keynote talk by Latham & Watkins

For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Panel: Diversity in Law

With representatives from A&O Shearman, Arnold & Porter, Clyde & Co and Herbert Smith Freehills. For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Open networking

A chance for our in-person attendees to network with 18 attending law firms. This part of the event involves talking to other members & employers at their exhibition stands (standing and walking).

3:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Skills session

By Latham & Watkins - Inside the hiring process - application & CV skills. For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Panel: Getting into Law

With representatives from Bristows, Hill Dickinson, Mischon de Reya, Osborne Clarke, RPC and Slaughter and May. For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

5 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

To confirm your place at the event, you may be contacted by call or text by the Bright Network team. Please make sure your details are all correct and up-to-date on your profile.

Travel reimbursement:

We would really like all our students to be able to have the opportunity to attend our events and we want to support where possible. Because of this, we are offering to support our members who would otherwise be unable to attend with a travel reimbursement of up to £30 towards their travel (public transport only). To request a reimbursement, complete and submit this application form. You will then be sent a form to complete reimbursement payment details and upload your travel receipts. Full instructions will be given on the forms. 

You need to attend the event in full to receive the reimbursement. Reimbursements will be sent out after the event you are attending. You need to have submitted the application form by 24/10/24, 11:59pm, and the payment details form by 01/11/24 11:59pm, in order to be eligible.
