The event is running in a hybrid format, so you can attend virtually or in-person. However, virtual attendees will not have the opportunity to network with the employers, but we will share employer interviews to help our virtual attendees gain more insights.

Who can attend

You're a Black Heritage undergraduate student studying at a UK university

You're graduating inΒ 2025, 2026, 2027 (or 2028 if on a four-year course)

You're on track for a 2:1 or above and demonstrate academic excellence

Additional skills gained from extracurricular activities/work experience will be viewed favourably

Registration and networking activity hosted by the Student Leadership Board

For in-person attendees, this involves chatting to other members in the main exhibition room (standing and walking). For virtual attendees the virtual SLB will host a virtual icebreaker activity.

11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Welcome and keynote talk

For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

11:30 a.m. - 11:40 a.m.

Break

11:40 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Skills session

For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Lunch and networking

For in-person attendees, lunch will be provided. This part of the event involves talking to other members and employers at their exhibition stands (standing and walking).

2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Panel session

For in-person attendees, this is a seated session in the main presentation room.

3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Break

3:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Workshop or networking

Half the in-person attendees will be given a chance to network with employers while the other half will sit in a workshop hosted by Amberjack.

Travel reimbursement:

We would really like all our students to be able to have the opportunity to attend our events and we want to support where possible. Because of this, we are offering to support our members who would otherwise be unable to attend with a travel reimbursement of up to £30 towards their travel (public transport only). To request a reimbursement, complete and submit this application form. You will then be sent a form to complete reimbursement payment details and upload your travel receipts. Full instructions will be given on the forms. 

You need to attend the event in full to receive the reimbursement. Reimbursements will be sent out after the event you are attending. You need to have submitted the application form by 08/09/24, 11:59pm, and the payment details form by 16/09/24 11:59pm, in order to be eligible.
