Unlock your passions at Moy Vets

We are located on the Fylde Coast, close to Blackpool, Preston and Lancaster. Just over an hour to the beautiful Lakes District, an hour to Manchester Airport and just over an hour to Liverpool. There are a lot of options sports wise, several cinema's and plenty of nice pubs and restaurants, and choice of nightlife.

We have a supportive, blended international team of 10 vets, 16 RVN's and 5 ANA's, supported by a reception and admin team. We provide our own OOH service for our clients, and we see a great variety of cases. We try to pick fun things to do for our team bonding, like an escape room, curling, quiz nights or our Christmas Party at a Gin Experience!.

We provide acupuncture, K-laser, basic endoscopy, and staged dentals with dental radiography at both our sites, as well as top of the line multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring. We have monthly visits from a Cardiologist and have access to Specialist Surgical services for those cases we would like to refer, but that can't travel. Our Head Vet is a CertAVP and does most of our ultrasonography in-house, but we have access to more advanced ultrasonography support.

Step into a supportive start

Your normal hours of work are 38 hours per week, 4 days a week. Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 7pm. You will also be required to participate in a weekend rota and an out of hours on-call rota which will include working on weekends and bank holidays, once you are ready for this, with call outs paid on top of your salary.

Our Clinical Director and Head Vet are both VetGDP advisors, and ready to support you. The whole Vet team takes a collaborative approach and we all learn from each other. We have regular 121's, Professional Development Meetings, and the protected team meeting time. As a new grad in our practice, you would have regular time off the rota for your development and support time, to prioritise your learning. Once you feel ready to join us on the on-call rota, we would start this with back up from either the CD or Head Vet.

Our standard consult length is 15 minutes for vaccines, 20 minutes for sick consults and 30 minutes for euthanasia's, second opinions and first-time skin or ear consults. As a new graduate, this would be 20 minutes for vaccines, 30 minutes for sick consults and 40 minutes for the euthanasia's, second opinions and first-time skin or ear consults. This will allow you to get settled in the routine of consulting, allowing ample time for work ups and build that important relationship with the clients and patients.
